Date: Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September 2025 - Permit no: ACU #207874

Announcement: The West of England Motor Club and South West Classic Trials Association will organise a classic trial held under the National Sporting Code, The Trials Standing Regulations of the ACU and any final instructions that may be issued.

Eligibility: All riders must hold a current ACU Trials Registration Card or SACU Licence. Riders from other Federations must produce a licence and start permission confirming insurance issued from their own FMN.

Categories: Group A1 solo machines and Group B1 sidecars.

(Sidecars will run at The Grove on day 1 and Pensland on day 2)

Entries:

  • Online entry only via www.southdevontrials.com.

  • 120 riders maximum, over 18’s only (unless specially invited by the club), entry fee of £40 to cover both days of the event, no single day entries.

  • Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis, online entries only.

  • Should the trial be oversubscribed a reserve list will be taken.

  • Online entries will open on 1st June 2026 closing on 31st August 2026 or when full, whichever comes first.

  • Please note that if the event is cancelled for any reason, including permit withdrawal, refunds will be subject to administration fee deductions. Please do not enter if you do not accept these terms.

Refund policy:

  • Withdrawals received on or before 31st August 2026 will receive a full refund less any administration/online entry transaction fees.

  • Withdrawals received after the 31st August 2026 and on or before 5th September 2026 will receive a 50% refund less any administration/online entry transaction fees.

  • Withdrawals after 5th September 2026 will receive no refund.

Classes:

There are classes for Pre-unit/Twins, Unit/2 strokes and Twinshocks on each of the following routes:

  • A Route - Star – Usual clubman standard with a couple of clubman expert sections to find a winner

  • A/B Route - Past & Present – 50% A route (star) route, 50% B route (classic) route

  • B Route - Past masters – For former winners/runners up at SWCTA events also for riders who have previously ridden the ‘star’ route but now seeking a lesser challenge on the ‘classic’ route.

  • B Route - Classic – Formerly known as Gentlefolk route.

  • C Route - Personal – In the begins, out the ends with minimal gates. Open to machines in production before 1985. Subject to sufficient interest.

  • Sidecars – Will run separate from the solos at the same venues but opposite days.

The organisers reserve the right to reclassify any entries they feel are not in the appropriate class. This includes reclassifying riders on the B route into the class Past Masters where the rider has previously won or come runner up in previous events. This class will still ride the B route.

Awards: There must be a minimum of 5 riders within a class for that class to be eligible for awards.

Special awards:

  • There will be a special award for the Best Performance on the Classic route by a Britshock.

  • There will be a special award for the Best Performance by a Past Master on a Britshock.

Method of marking: To be run under TRS 22B Non-stop ruling.

Sections: One course each day for solos, 3 routes, 18-20 sections, 2 laps. There will be no steep drop ins or exits. Sidecars will run on their own course.

Final Instructions & Results: To be emailed to riders and posted on www.southdevontrials.com, the West of England Motor Club Ltd Facebook page and the Centre website, www.swcentregazette.com.

A caterer will be in attendance and there will be toilets at the start venue.

Observers required, you will receive a meal voucher and a contribution towards your cost of getting to the event.

We recommend Cockingford Farm Campsite as a local campsite.
