SUPPLMENTARY REGULATIONS
JURISDICTION: The West of England Motor Club will organise a trial held under the National Sporting Code, The Trials Standing Regulations of the ACU and any final instructions that may be issued.
ELIGIBILITY:All riders must hold a current ACU Trials Registration Card or SACU Licence. Other riders must produce a licence and Start Permission confirming Insurance from their FMN.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RIDERS TO ADHERE TO ALL TRAFFIC LAWS AND ENSURE THAT THEIR BIKES ARE ROAD LEGAL, TAXED AND INSURED.
ENTRIES: Limited to the first 120 applicants. Entries will open on 11th August 2025 and close on 10th October 2025 or when full, whichever comes first. All entries to be made online at www.southdevontrials.com, entry fee of £40. ACU day licences available on the day for £5.
REFUND POLICY:
• Withdrawals received on or before 10th October 2025 will receive a full refund less any administration/online entry transaction fees.
• Withdrawals after 10th October 2025 will receive no refund.
NUMBERS AND TYRES: A number will issued to all competitors and should be fitted to the front of the machine.
ALL BIKES MUST BE FITTED WITH FRONT AND REAR TRIALS TYRES, NO ENDURO OR MOTORCROSS TYRES. (MAXXIS TRAILMAX ACCEPTED)
ROUTE CARD AND FINAL INSTRUCTIONS: will be emailed the week before the event.
INSURANCE:Third-party Road Traffic Act (RTA) insurance to extend your current road insurance for use in trials or competition is automatically included for free with your 2025 ACU membership provided you sign on at the start of the event. This cover is event‑specific and applies only for the duration and permitted areas of that event.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your personal motor insurance policy allows use in competition or trial settings, to avoid any potential gap in cover with your insurer.
STARTING TIMES: Riders numbers and start times will be allocated in order of receipt and will start riders 2 per minute from 08:00.
COURSE: Course will consist of approx70 - 80 miles which will include Public Highway as well as off-road tracks and Private Land. The route will be returning to the start field after 30 miles for refuelling and snacks. There will be approx 30 Observed Sections. Special test will be used to resolve ties as per ACU rules. Red and Blue markers will be used for all sections. Yellow markers on the Hard deviations.
All competitors MUST give way to horses and walkers
and close all gates where indicated to do so.
Travelling Marshall's will report any competitor who is seen riding in a dangerous or irresponsible manner and any such reported rider will be liable to disqualification and disciplinary action. "Please ensure your registration number plate is clean when travelling on the road".
A CATERING VAN WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE IN THE START FIELD ALL DAY
AWARDS: Awards to the overall Winner and runner up for each class A to F.
RESULTS: To be emailed to riders and posted on the club website, www.southdevontrials.com and Facebook page.
